CAN/CSA Z662 Standard “Oil & Gas Pipeline Systems” has been adopted by legislation both within the provinces and at the federal level as being the standard that establishes the minimum requirements for the design, materials, construction and operation of oil and gas pipeline systems within Canada. This presentation will focus on the welding construction requirements within the Z662 Standard and provide a regulatory perspective, as viewed by the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), on the Safety and Loss Management Systems requirements specified in Z662 for the welding and construction of pipelines in Alberta.
