Speaker

Joost van Tilburg is the Operations Director of LNG Canada, a Shell-PetroChina-Kogas-Mitsubishi Joint Venture. He has been working on the LNG Canada project since 2010, as the Front End Development Manager from Shell offices in the Netherlands, the USA and in Canada. He relocated to Canada in January 2012 and became the Operations Director in April 2014.
Joost was educated as a Chemical Engineer at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, where he graduated with honors in 1985. He developed his Business Administration skills through distance learning at Henley, UK.
He has over 30 years of experience since he joined Shell in 1985, working in the Netherlands in a number of roles in R&D, design, troubleshooting, operations and maintenance management and project start-up in both oil and gas, before he moved to Australia in 1999 to become the site manager of the North West Shelf Joint Venture LNG plant for Woodside. After Australia and a short period in Shell’s corporate offices in The Netherlands he moved to Oman as the manager of the Qalhat LNG Complex near Sur in Oman for the Oman LNG and Qalhat LNG companies.
He is married to Jopie van Tilburg and Joost and Jopie have lived in The Netherlands, Australia, Oman, USA and Canada. His many private interests include woodworking and cooking.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The Ranchmen’s Club is located at 710 13 Avenue SW and sits directly opposite the Lougheed House. Underground parking is available (6′ clearance) at no cost while you are inside the Club (first come, first served) or street parking is available.
Is there a dress code?
As the Ranchmen’s Club is a private club, a dress code is in effect. Smart business attire is expected and jeans, t-shirts, hats, and athletic shoes are not allowed.
