Dr Alan Murray is a consulting engineer with Principia Consulting in Calgary, AB. Prior to forming Principia in 2010, he was Chief Engineer at the Canadian National Energy Board. Dr. Murray’s industry experience has included a number of senior management positions with a large pipeline operating company in North America with responsibility for system planning, construction, maintenance and contracting functions. His 42 years of work experience spans research, regulation, third-party assessment, design and development in pipelines and offshore structures. He was the founding chairman of the ASME Pipeline Systems Division and is the co-author of the ASME Press text books Pipeline Design and Construction – A Practical Approach and Pipeline Integrity Assurance and is a Fellow of the ASME.

With more than 30 years of experience in the domestic and international energy business, Chris Bloomer leads the industry association that represents Canada’s transmission pipeline companies, which operate 134,000 kilometres of pipeline in Canada and the United States.
Prior to being appointed President and CEO of CEPA in 2015, Chris spent three years as CEO and Director at Connacher Oil and Gas Ltd. Before that, he was an executive with Petrobank Energy and Resources for 10 years, providing leadership throughout the company’s corporate evolution.
Chris began his career at Shell Canada and moved with increasing responsibility from exploration to economics and corporate planning, oil sands development, oil sands operations and marketing. By the time he left Shell he was Director, Liquids Business Centre, responsible for crude oil and NGL marketing and business development.
Chris has also held other senior executive roles across a range of domestic and international energy businesses, including Castle Energy, Talon Resources and Korn/Ferry. Throughout his career, pipelines have been an integral aspect of Chris’ business activities, both with regard to existing pipelines and those to access new markets.
Chris has a degree in Geoscience and is a member of The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).

He recently relocated back to Calgary after 5 years in Lingen, Germany where he was based out of ROSEN’s Technology and Research Center. In his 10 years with ROSEN Corey has expanded his knowledge through various roles including: time in field operations and technical sales, before transitioning into his current position.

Since 2017, Deanna has been working on an initiative Indigenizing pipeline curriculum through a pilot project with SAIT and Innotech Alberta, training 60 Indigenous students in Pipeline Monitoring. In 2018, she joined the University of Calgary as their first Indigenous Engineer in Residence.As a formally trained musician and performer, Deanna believes that incorporating the Arts in STEM will engage future diverse perspectives. She is the President of Indigenous Engineering Inclusion Inc. and co-founder of IndigeSTEAM – A non-profit youth initiative that connects Indigenous professionals and youth in the spirit of mentoring and collaboration. They are hosting their inaugural mentor’s leadership retreat in April 2019 at the Banff Springs Hotel.

Matt Johnston, P. Eng

Matt is a pipeline professional with substantial experience across a range of different facets of pipeline system engineering. Specific experience includes: preparation of various pipeline design studies, cost estimates, DBM development, various pipeline mechanical calculations, generating pipeline flow schematics/PFDs/P&IDs, preparation and field verification of piping layouts, and providing construction support thru procurement and construction management and field engineering activities. With extensive knowledge of engineering principles, industry standards and good engineering practices Matt has comprehensive experience in pipeline construction methods and technique and has been involved in the design of conventional oil & gas, sour gas, high temperature heavy oil, and CO2 pipelines at various project development stages from FEED and detailed design to construction support, commissioning and start-up. In addition he brings design and construction experience in both conventional steel and composite pipe pipelines.

Tisha splits her time between writing, consulting, and public speaking. Her experience spans environmental consulting, company advocacy, policy, politics, and academia. As principal and founder of Adamantine Energy, Tisha works to transform energy policy and politics around the world. Tisha serves as Strategic Advisor to Stanford University's Natural Gas Initiative and is a non-resident Fellow at the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University. In 2017 she chaired the Stanford NGI Symposium to reduce energy poverty in the developing world using natural gas. Previously, Tisha served as President & CEO of the Colorado Oil& Gas Association and as Principal and Vice President with Tetra Tech, a national environmental consulting and engineering firm.
She has a B.S. in Earth Systems with an emphasis in Geology from Stanford University. Tisha is proud to serve as the Chair of the Executive Board of the Colorado-Wyoming Chapter of the American Red Cross, and serves on several boards including the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, the Butterfly Pavilion, the Breakthrough Institute, and is a member of the National Petroleum Council, an advisory board to the Secretary of Energy under both the Obama and Trump administrations.
